The apple is the symbol of knowledge.

 

In some countries students used to give an apple to their teachers. This was the common way to show gratitude and say thank you to a teacher.

In the Bible, the forbidden fruit grants wisdom.

It was a long standing tradition in nordic countries and EEUU.

Only in Colombia this tradition is still alive.
